Special Loans for Teachers
Credit Union of Texas is proud to offer these special loan programs for our most long-standing membership base, our educational employees. For more information about these special loans, contact Lending Services at 972-263-9497 and select option 2.

First Year Teacher Loan to help with living or relocating expenses until first paycheck (only offered in August and September)

• Up to $2,500 total
• Term note due in 12 months
• 0% during initial 12 month term
• Must pass credit criteria
• Must open checking account
• Requires copy of teaching contract

Alternative Teacher Certification Loan to help with expenses to earn certification

• Up to $5,000 total
• Verification of participation in alternative certification program
• First payment deferred up to 90 days
• 60-month maximum term
• Must pass credit criteria
• Auto pay required
• 1% APR discount off our standard personal loan rate

Classroom Supply Loan

• Up to $750 total
• 12 month maximum term
• No credit qualifying
• Verification of teaching status required
• Auto pay required
• $25 processing fee

Teacher Retirement Buy-Back Loan

• Up to $20,000 total
• 60 month maximum term
• Must pass credit criteria
• Auto pay required
• Check must be payable to TRS
• 1% APR discount off our standard personal loan rate

Tools for Schools

Campus Representative Program—Our representatives help to spread the word about the many benefits of CUofTX membership with their fellow employees.

School Planners—CUofTX produces and distributes an academic planner every year for school district staff to make it easier to plan their year.

Adopt-a-School Program—Each of our branch locations has adopted a local area school. Our staff volunteers their time to assist teachers and help enrich the educational experience for the students.

Seminars/Presentations—We sponsor several seminars for school employees each year and our staff is also available to schools to teach students about how credit union's work.

School Events—CUofTX is actively involved in new teacher orientations and back-to-school events each year.

Dollars for Scholars—Credit Union of Texas helps students fund their education with our annual Scholarship Award and our Student Loan Program.

Pay-for-Grades—All CUofTX Student Checking Account holders in grades 6-12 are eligible to participate in our quarterly cash drawing.To be included in the drawing, students should deliver their six or nine week report card to the nearest Branch location prior to these deadlines:

Student Checking—Special interest-bearing checking account available to students members age 12-24.

Pocket Money—Our prepaid MasterCard designed to offer teens and young adults spending independence and responsibility.
